Ashley & Joe were wed at the Pond House Cafe in West Hartford, CT.
Ashley and Joe’s color palette took a few twists and turns before we settled on the muted citrus palette. They were originally going for a more traditional look with accents of rose gold, but then moved towards a much more organic, airy design with lots of bounce and softer hues.
Ashley and Joe were high school sweethearts from CT. They have lived all over the country as Joe is a member of the armed forces.
I really the loved the copper arch that the couple chose for their ceremony. The patio of the Cafe has such a stunning backdrop that we didn’t want to interfere with the picturesque view. The copper arch was subtle, delicate but still gave them that traditional arch feel.
Elizabeth Park is well known for its Heritage Rose Garden and this was an absolute must have backdrop for the couples wedding portraits.
Elizabeth Park (where Pond House Cafe is located) was absolutely buzzing with activity on this September day when we arrived. Families, dogs, and buses of visitors all coming to see the magnificent gardens and greenhouses of the park and walk its paths through the woods.
