My Secret Hack to Choose the Perfect Bridal Bouquet

The bridal bouquet is arguably the most important accessory on girls big day. It is the most photographed item in the wedding and will be heavily featured in those photos you pass each day in your home. You'll always remember the way it felt in your hands as you walked down the aisle and perhaps you might even choose to have it preserved in remembrance of its beauty.

But how do you work with your floral designer to capture your essence, style, and personality and wrap them up all in one bunch of flowers?

Want to know my favorite hack? Look at your handbag!

A woman's purse says so much about her personality. Take a minute to open your closet and write a list of words you would use to describe your collection of handbags:

Practical

Bold

Bright

Fun

Luxury?

Chances are these are terms that also describe the type of bouquet you want to carry with you down the aisle.

If you like bright eye-catching designer totes, choose a bouquet that makes a bolder statement with bright color choices and up-scale flowers like garden roses and orchids.

Maybe you're a practical crossbody kinda gal. Don't be swayed into carrying a huge cascade! A light and airy handtied bouquet is the way to go.

Of course, it's equally important to select a bouquet which will complement your bridal gown. We once did a wedding where that bride wore a black and tiger print gown (go girl!). Since it was clearly "all about the dress" a classic monochromatic red bouquet featuring lush red roses was the way to go despite her bold style. Your florist will help guide you to a bouquet choice that works harmoniously with your attire as well as the rest of your event.

So if you're in the process of choosing your own bridal bouquet and don't know where to begin, be sure to check out your closet and see what your handbags are saying about you! Drop your handbag style in comments so we can hear all about your perfect bouquet style.
