My Favorite Plant-based Beauty Products

A trip to Ulta, I'm like a kid in a candy store! I absolutely love exploring and trying new beauty products. My love of plants and flowers extends all the way to my beauty routine too. Nature has amazing beautifying benefits so I want to share with you some of my favorite products I use in my own routine.

100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil by The Ordinary - $9.80

This product has been a game-changer for my skin! Here's a little math for you: oil + oil = not oily. Hear me out, using a face oil rather than a moisturizer helps your body from overproducing oil and keeps my skin in balance. The organic rose hip seed oil keeps my skin feeling velvety and I use it every night and in the am. Hello!!? did you see the price? The Ordinary is a fantastic beauty company that offers products without all the expensive labels, fragrances, and extras. What you get are quality ingredients that get down to business and keep your wallet happy.

Zoya Nail Polish - $10

For many years I've dealt with nail polish sensitivities. I'll get a manicure and then after a day or 2 I start to feel itchy and puffy and have to take it off. There's a new round of polishes in town that are ditching the irritating chemicals and that's when I discovered Zoya. What sets this polish apart is it's "10-free" meaning its eliminated the 10 most harmful chemicals found in nail polish including formaldehyde, toluene, and DBP. They also leave out any parabens, lead, camphor, formaldehyde resin, TPHP, xylene, or ethyl tosylamide (also vegan and cruelty-free!). They have over 400 colors plus top and base coats, including my favorite dusty mauve "Presley" and I've had no irritation.

Lush No Drought Dry Shampoo -$17.95

Being a momma a three doesn't always leave me a lot of time for haircare. One of my good friends Christine turned me on to this dry shampoo and I've been hooked! Unlike most dry shampoos which come in aerosol, this formula comes in a handy shaker bottle with no sticky spray residue. The formula is made from cornstarch with delicious smelling grapefruit and lime oil. I sprinkle a little in my roots, rub into the scalp with my fingertips and brush it out. Super easy and a lifesaver on days I need to skip the shower.

So Pumpkin Exfoliating Sugar Scrub by Tula Skincare -$20

I've been following Gold Medalist Shawn Johnson on instagram for a while now and when she collaborated with Tula Skincare on an exfoliating face scrub that smells like pumpkin bread I was first in line. Tula products have been buzzing in the beauty word because they contain probiotics to balance the biome of your skin. I use this sugar scrub about 2x per week and it's super gentle but effective in leaving my skin feeling polished and bright.
